The names Candace & Basil are derived from ancient titles given to a Queen and King, respectively. This royal bond symbolizes not only the leadership of an empire but also that of a household. Together, the name represents our brand, but more importantly, the customers we serve. We strive to make your home a palace and vice versa.
We are a family and Canadian-owned brand of home furniture serving Canada and USA. Our family has been a part of the North American furniture industry since 1986 as an importer, manufacturer and distributor to large national chains and local home stores.
We strive to uphold the same values and principles from our family business in Candace & Basil. Our mandate is and has always been to maintain integrity in all aspects of our business, deliver the best possible quality at fair prices and to treat all stakeholders, especially our customers, like royalty.

Gaurav Nijhawan is the Creative Director at Candace & Basil, a proudly Canadian and family-owned business known for exceptional craftsmanship and custom furniture.
From roller blading in the family warehouse as a child, to managing the warehouse in high school, and eventually building the very first custom bed with his own hands, Gaurav was all-in on furniture.
With the family business as the foundation, Gaurav was able to pursue his dream of building a luxury furniture brand. Currently, he and his brothers focus on growing their in-house manufacturing in Mississauga to offer unlimited flexibility, the best quality, and the fastest lead times.
